“Welcoming is a sweet gesture that makes everyone feel at home”. With this gesture a welcome function was organized on 3rd May, 2025 in St. Peter’s School & College to formally greet and introduce a new gem and a great visionary, our new principal Rev. Fr. Jacob Bona D’Souza to this temple of learning as he starts his new tenure being the principal of this prestigious institution.

The event included a formal welcome by. Mrs. Rekha Srivastava, prayer dance, lighting of the lamp, a message from the new principal, Rev. Fr. Jacob Bona D’Souza , transferring of responsibilities by the former principal, Rev. Fr. Reginald D’Souza to the new principal Rev. Fr. Jacob Bona D’Souza, vote of thanks etc.

The Programme commenced with a prayer dance to invoke Lord’s blessing being followed by a sacred ritual, lighting of the lamp by Rev. Fr. Jacob Bona D’Souza, our new principal, Rev. Fr. Reginald D’Souza, our principal, Rev. Sr. Susheela Remy, our Head mistress, teachers representatives (from senior section) Mr. Francis Rego, Mrs. Sunita Bhatnagar, Mrs. Prateeksha Srivastava, Mrs. Shalini Kapoor (Junior Section), Mrs. Madhu Nigam (LKG), Students representatives Raj Singh from grade XII, Yuvin Chandra from grade V, Mr. Jeevan and Mrs. Sukrita on behalf of the School community.

The School community expressed their enthusiasm and support for the new leadership signifying a warm reception for the new leader. The school community expressed confidence in the new principal’s ability to lead the institution to greater heights too.

Dance by the students from classes VI & VII, group song by the choir and poem recited by Shraddha Vatsa from class XI-B added flavour to the welcome of Rev. Fr. Jacob Bona D’Souza.

Then, Rev, Fr, Jacob, the new principal in his address shared his vision for the school, emphasizing the importance of holistic development of students and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. The principal also encouraged the staff and the students to work together to achieve the school’s goal.

The next was a traditional gesture representing the transfer of responsibilities and leadership by our esteemed principal Rev. Fr. Reginald to our highly anticipated incoming principal Rev. Fr. Jacob Bona by handing over the key which symbolizes love, truth and knowledge officially.

The welcome function concluded with Vote of Thanks delivered by Aayat (Class X-A) and Syed Ashtar (Class X-C) expressing gratitude to all those who organized and participated in the event.

The School Community conveyed their best wishes to the new principal and assured their support in making the school a vibrant and successful institution.
